ImageWhy is it that those vegetarian, de-caffeinated, non-smoking, sandal-wearing, beardie weirdies at The Guardian and its sister paper, The Observer, can't leave Bridport alone? Have you seen last Sundays edition of The Observer?

Apparently Bridport is one of the top twenty places in the world to visit - according to its travel writer James Lohan, Bridport beats such places as The Taj Mahal (although we have our very own version in East Street)the Great Wall of China and Machu Pichu because of The Bull Hotel and Dorset Knob Biscuits. Where do these people come from? Why don't they just leave us alone.

Where is this enchanting place they speak of? I used to live in a place like that once upon a time but it has gone now.

I've always known that Briders is the centre of the universe, it's just a shame ""they"" are finding out about us! After all it's the people that make a place. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to stroll along the beach and 1. see someone you know and; 2. find a space without walking half a mile! If these foody types had a burger at the Bay, served by some ranting nutter (you know who) OR tried local bread I'm sure the reports wouldn't be so gushing!

I suppose if we could all be transported back 100 years to East Street we would find a very gentrified and exclusive hotel called The Bull, I reckon it went from posh to pikey and now back to posh, it's called progress. What would you do with it? Cameras everywhere..........

Love the courtyard at The Posh Bull. But sit there having a drink and great memories of Sunday Lunchtime live music in the Stable Bar and Jazz Nights upstairs in the now Ballroom with George Melly, Ronnie Scott as well as Bentley's more recent Comedy Nights.

I thought the large round object in Mucky Poo was a receptacle for used needles. A statue of Florence Nightingale should be erected on it-she was good with needles-I think she invented the Balaclava.
