Bridport Arts Centre hosts a Awkward dinner date drama called Hysteria, presented by Inspector Sands and Stamping Ground Theatre, on Thursday 25 October 07 at 8pm. The production is inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem of the same name. Arts Centre marketing manager Tamsin Loudon explains, “It’s a funny show about a man and a woman who are on a really awkward dinner date. He’s an academic whose research into neuroses is threatening his sanity and she’s an events manager who’s terrified of missing the party. It’s had great reviews and the company won the Total Theatre Award last year.”
Hysteria was developed at the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton and BAC. Bursting with irreverent humour and vivid physicality, Hysteria draws its audience into an arresting world where the main course is a fight for survival and a banana can move you to tears "Beautifully observed... Wonderfully witty... I laughed until I cried" The Guardian "this deft three-hander boasts the physical and verbal wit of a theatrical precision instrument… Hysteria is a rib and mind-tickling delight" The Times www.inspector-sands.co.uk |
