MOZZIES E-mail

ImageThe chikungunya virus ("knuckle fever"), a previously rare, mild infection spread by mosquitoes, that has mutated into a virulent, rapidly spreading strain. Since 2005, it has infected at least 1.4 million people in India and on islands in the Indian Ocean and may have killed thousands.

has begun spreading in Europe. In June, a few people near Ravenna in north-east Italy developed a fever with severe joint pain, but by mid-August there were more than 100 cases.

Italian officials blame the outbreak on warm weather and unusually high numbers of mosquitoes. Bridport is also showing these symptoms of warm weather and mozzies, (don't forget that Blandford fly) let's hope not the chikungunya virus.

Batski-Follow the link at the end of the article ...That's all I need after being bitten by a tick last week and having antibiotics that say ""keep out of the sun"" and the cat bringing in hoppers.

Yeah there are millions of the buggers buzzing around my windows trying to get in. Top Tip; go to boots to get a slow release insecticide (plug in), buy one get one free at the mo.
