Born out of a desire to make conscious, passionate and uplifting music, Nimomashtic are an Indie/folk band with a difference. The second 'Walk Your Talk' tour will see the band walk from gig to gig over a distance of 300 miles. They will be planting apple trees and wildflowers along the trail and inspiring others to think more carefully about the environment. They will be playing in the Beach and Barnicott on the 5th September.
Beginning in Brighton on the south coast and finishing at the Eden Project in Cornwall, Nimomashtic will be carrying all their own equipment and sleeping underneath the stars.
The band are resurrecting the legacy of 19th Century American folk hero 'Johnny Appleseed' - a wandering pioneer who, as a service to humanity, planted many thousands of trees over forty years of his life. Nimomashtic are planting trees and wildflowers as a symbol that only with mans helping hand can a potential environmental crisis be avoided.
This years tour follows on from a 900 mile trek around the UK in 2006, which saw them play forty concerts and plant many trees. The band still receives messages from those inspired by their journey. One man even pledged to plant an entire orchard!
Nimomashtic's upbeat melodic music crosses many musical plains from folk 'n' roll, swing jazz and percussional grooves and never fail to get an audience singing along. The four piece band features Matt Kemp on guitar and lead vocals, Oliver Ridgewell on the Spanish box and mandolin, Emlyn Roberts on bass and Laura Castiel on backing vocals and percussion. In support of the tour they will be releasing their third studio album 'Adventures in the art of song'.
