CRIME UPDATE 29 AUG E-mail
Over the last 7 days a number of crimes were reported to us from around the area, these include:

• On Tuesday 21st August 2 shopliftings occurred firstly in the Co-op and then Somerfield’s stores. Since the incidents suspects have been identified and arrested.

• At approximately 6pm on Wednesday 22nd August a red Mongoose BMX style bicycle was stolen from outside a premise in the area of Rax lane.

• A Wild boar pen was damaged in the Mapperton area near Beaminster.

• At approximately 7pm on Sunday 26th August criminal damage occurred to a window at the Woodman Inn.

• At approximately 8pm on Sunday 26th a large pane of plate glass was broken at Somerfield’s stores.

• In the week leading up to 28th August damage occurred at St Mary’s School.

• Potted plants were smashed in the vicinity of the Foyer in Bridport during the early hours of Monday 27th August.

• At approximately 2pm on Tuesday 28th August, hedge shears and other garden tools were stolen from a garden in North Allington.

Over the last week 12 arrests were made:

2 x theft shoplifting
2 x burglary
3 x assault actual bodily harm
1 x common assault
1 x warrant for failing to appear in court
1 x harassment
1 x public order offence
1 x drunk and disorderly

If you have any information regarding the above offences or any other crimes, then please come forward and help us with our enquiries:  it may be your evidence, which successfully secures a conviction.  Instead of accepting that crime is part of the Bridport society, let’s give the courts the facts and allow them to decide.
