Other crimes have been reported across the area. However, in order to maintain sensitivity to the victims and not prejudice ongoing investigations, these will not be included.

Theft of garden ornaments

Stolen Figurine
Stolen Figurine
Overnight Friday 21st July 3 properties in Port Bredy, Barrack Street had items stolen from the gardens and adjacent footpaths. These include a distinctive figurine approximately 2ft high made of African soapstone. Other items stolen were glazed pots, a barbeque and a gas bottle. In one instance the thief removed a plant from a pot. The plant was then placed in another plant pot brought to the scene.

It is my opinion these crimes are linked and I would ask that if anyone has had items similar offered for sale to contact me at the Police station or anonymously via Crime stoppers.

Over the last 7 days 11 arrests were made:

3 x Assault actual bodily harm
6 x Theft / shoplifting
1 x Breach of bail conditions
1 x Driving whilst unfit through drink

If you have any information regarding the above offences or any other crimes, then please come forward and help us with our enquiries:  it may be your evidence, which successfully secures a conviction.  Instead of accepting that crime is part of the Bridport society, let’s give the courts the facts and allow them to decide.

Contact the police station direct, or speak to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 – all calls will be treated in confidence
