Over the last 7 days crimes reported to us include: • Over the weekend of Saturday 6th July a premise in the vicinity of the Leisure centre, Bridport and entry was gained. Two strimmers were stolen along with two petrol cans with approximately 6 litres of fuel was also taken.
• Between 12 and 2.30pm on Thursday 19th July an IBM laptop computer was stolen from an unattended vehicle whilst it was parked in Dr Robert’s Close.
• At approximately 8.30pm Thursday 19th July a theft of 2 bottles of vodka was reported stolen from Morrison’s. A 19yr old man has been arrested and charged to appear in court.
• Thursday 19th July a walk in theft occurred was reported by the occupant of a premise in West Allington. Items taken included a wallet and credit cards.
• At approximately midday Friday 20th July damage occurred to a stationary vehicle parked in Folly Mill Lane, the wing mirror and bodywork sustained damage.
• Overnight Friday 20th July a speedboat and trailer was stolen from outside a premise in West Street, Bridport. The boat and trailer were later recovered.
• Again overnight Friday 20th July; a large window at the Conservative club, North Street was smashed when a large object was thrown against it. Other crimes have been reported across the area. However, in order to maintain sensitivity to the victims and not prejudice ongoing investigations, these will not be included. Theft of garden ornaments  Stolen Figurine Overnight Friday 21st July 3 properties in Port Bredy, Barrack Street had items stolen from the gardens and adjacent footpaths. These include a distinctive figurine approximately 2ft high made of African soapstone. Other items stolen were glazed pots, a barbeque and a gas bottle. In one instance the thief removed a plant from a pot. The plant was then placed in another plant pot brought to the scene.
It is my opinion these crimes are linked and I would ask that if anyone has had items similar offered for sale to contact me at the Police station or anonymously via Crime stoppers.
Over the last 7 days 11 arrests were made:
3 x Assault actual bodily harm 6 x Theft / shoplifting 1 x Breach of bail conditions 1 x Driving whilst unfit through drink
