CRIME UPDATE 18 JULY E-mail
 

Over the last 7 days crimes reported to us include:

• Overnight Wednesday 11th July a works van was broken into when it was parked in the vicinity of Lower Walditch Lane. Power tools and other high value goods were stolen.
• Between Thursday 12th and Sunday 15th July a ladder was stolen from the roof rack of a parked Toyota when it was parked in the vicinity of St Swithuns road.
• Overnight Thursday 12th July a drainpipe was ripped off away from its supports in the area of Chancery Lane.
• During the afternoon of Saturday 14th July damage occurred to a parked vehicle in the Chardsmeade car park when its bodywork was damaged by use of a key or a similar implement.
• At approximately 2am on Sunday 15th July a window was smashed at the Royal Oak public house.
• During the morning of Monday 16th July a vehicle in the area of Rivervale had two tyres flattened after nails were placed under two rear tyres.
• Over the weekend high value metals and other scrap items were stolen from the vicinity of the old medical centre, North Allington.

Other crimes have been reported across the area. However, in order to maintain sensitivity to the victims and not prejudice ongoing investigations, these will not be included.

Indecent Exposure

At approximately 6.30pm Monday 16th July an incident of indecent exposure occurred in the vicinity of Parsonage road. A 15yr female was walking in the area when a male aged in mid twenties wearing glasses and sports clothing jogged past. In the process he exposed his genitals and shouted an obscene comment when he was some distance away.
Officers were dispatched straight away and a thorough search was conducted in the area was done. PC 775 Paul Brown would like to hear from you if you have any information regarding this incident.


Over the last 7 days 6 arrests were made:


1x Causing grievous bodily harm
1 x Assault actual bodily harm
3 x Theft / shoplifting
1 x public disorder/ assault


If you have any information regarding the above offences or any other crimes, then please come forward and help us with our enquiries:  it may be your evidence, which successfully secures a conviction.  Instead of accepting that crime is part of the Bridport society, let’s give the courts the facts and allow them to decide.
