TRAVELLERS CAMP? E-mail

I hear from a reputable source that theres a planning application in to East Devon authority, to develop a two acre site in the Hawkchurch/Marshwood area just up the road from a recognised caravan park at Blackpool corner into a traveller's site with 28 pitches and space for approximately twelve more in the future if necessary and conversion of a stable into an amenity building. The site has been purchased? by two well known traveller families, the planning application number is 07-1853/COU, maybe you at Bridder Radio could look into this?

I think most of us would agree and say not in our backyard thank you! the only people to benefit from this invasion would be people selling chains, padlocks,CCTV cameras etc.
cheers, dragon

The trouble is the BAT, Bentley had a point. It's pretty difficult to effectively destroy a fellow BR member without knowing anything about them whatsoever. All that followed was basically a game of dictionary tossing and finger pointing. For instance, if I told you I was HFW's rent boy you'd have a little more to go on wouldn't you? It's good that it came to an end where it did, and we can all start to contribute a little more constructively to the website. Incidentally, the story run on the front of the wip-wop this week regarding Ms Foote and her 7 kids has made her look like a tax-payer sponging shameless bint who can't keep her legs crossed....But I would like to point out that I know her personally - and her husband had an affair and left her and their 7 kids in the lurch...

Oh swell,i don't suppose the police have investigated where the funding for this site came from ? Probably government funding. I dare say the application will be accepted, though if the original land owner had asked for permission to hold two moto cross events a year.He would have been pistol whipped for disturbing the peace.(Of the wealthy and retired! )..

The trouble is that if there is a suspicion that any of the residents of this transit camp have broken the law the police would not enter the site because gypsies are seen as a racial minority and the police can do without all that politically correct aggro. This is what a police officer told me about an incident at a certain camp not so far north from here. So if you are a racial/religious minority you have more rights? I, as a middle class wasp would not get planning permission for such a site why should they?

Some travellers are evil thieving scum, some are fabulously resourceful, helpful, salt of the earth. Kind of like other people who move around a bit less and tend to be a bit more bigotted as a result. Personally I'd rather have a traveller site nearby than retirement home on the high street, so if we're sharpening pitchforks - could we start with the crinklies?

You get more points for Crinklies and the rest of the Blue-Rinse brigade. Plus the pitchfork glides straight through them like a knife through butter. New Poll Ed? How many complaining grannies can you stack on an 8ft pitch fork? And following that, howmany pitchfork loads can you fit in the back of dirty Landrover pickup?

Phew! I just re-read that...bit harsh I thought. Ed I thought you were meant to be editing me! or are you helping me me commit cyber-suicide?! How about a free Mikkimug to the next person to bring an issue to the table that everyone else feels is worthwhile. Speaking of Mikkimugs...who won?

I see the traveller's camp at stoneyhead went up in flames :) Someone sent in the 'flaming arrow of justice' :)

Watch out Bat, the Council will probably let them camp in Bucky Doo Square now - at least the the toilets will be nice and handy for them..they will probably replace their vans from public money too.....
