Over the weekend of 10th-12th August, the fourth Endorse-it in-Dorset music festival will take place and Bridport Radio member Mad Majors Mate has won two free tickets (see you there MMM - ED). This years headliners include Lee Scratch Perry, The Undertones, The Cropdusters, Eat Static, Dreadzone, Zion Train, Billy Childish, Back to the Planet, Mad Professor, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), SubGiant, and of course the inimitable Pronghorn. This isn’t all! there are a lot of upcoming great bands out there, whose quality and enthusiasm has become an integral part of the festival. A wide range of theatre, comedy and street entertainment complements a fantastic line-up.
It all started in a Barn in Dorset Can it really only be 5 years ago that the party was held near the village of Sixpenny Handley in the beautiful setting of Cranborne Chase which sparked off The Endorse-it in-Dorset Festival? A birthday party that inspired members of the band Pronghorn to take things into their own hands and start a festival, bringing quality local and international music to their home county of Dorset. Some 4 years down the line we are presented with The Endorse-it in-Dorset Festival 2007 and quite a beast it is too!
Growing fast The Festival goes from strength to strength. Putting together a quality event and rather than relying on corporate sponsorship, using local business to make the event profitable to the local community. Steadily growing from a one day event of 750 capacity, to a three day festival of 5000 punters and encompassing a wide range of entertainment. The organisers have once again pulled out all the stops to bring a top notch line-up for a most reasonable price of £75 for an adult weekend ticket, which includes camping.

New quality, Old School And then there’s the atmosphere… First commented on by members of Zion Train at an earlier Endorse-it and reported in the national music/festival press and message boards across the internet. Its “old school” without the chaos, relaxed without the disorganisation, quality without the expense. There is a late music licence ensuring the party can carry on as long as people are up for it, managing to be secluded enough that you feel part of something special (the “I was there” factor). You are as likely to find yourself enjoying a band standing with the likes of The Mad Professor or Eat Static as you are to be standing next to a punter or one of the festival organisers.
