Following last year's successful move to Asker Meadows on the southern side of Bridport, the Food and Drink Festival is on again this weekend. Showcasing the best of what our area produces. Bridport is a very special place for food and drink, and we want to show off to the world! Festivities start on Friday night with a cookery evening with Lesley Waters, a stalwart supporter of local food. The Round Table Beer and Cider event will kick off that evening too, with live music and a variety of local food producers doing food.
On Saturday, there will be a cookery theatre, many local food and drink producers sampling and selling their wares, a special tent emphasising the local opportunities for growing and cooking your own food and more chance to sample over thirty different beers and ciders from the area. This will stretch into the evening with live music and good food. Sunday is planned to be a bit of a family day, with lots of fun demonstrations on local food craft - fishing, cheesemaking, baking, etc. There will still be plenty of stalls and cookery demonstrations. Come and enjoy Sunday lunch with us. Proposed times: Friday 29th June - 6.00pm-11.00pm Saturday 30th June - 9.30am - 11.00pm Sunday 1st July - 10.00am - 3.00pm There may well be other events happening during the week, so keep checking the website and local press. www.bridportfoodfestival.org.uk |
