PRESS RELEASE REPORTED CRIMES Over the last 7 days a number of crimes were reported to us from around the area, these include: • A Leyland roadrunner van was stolen from the vicinity of the Dreadnought Trading estate. This was reported to police on Thursday 10th May.
• A large amount of diesel was stolen from a vehicle overnight Thursday 10th May in the Symonsbury area.
• A burglary occurred overnight Thursday 10th May in the Pasture way area of Bothenhampton. Cash and alcohol was stolen from the building.
• Overnight Friday 11th May damage occurred to a large sign in the area of Gore Cross Business Park.
• A yellow and black ‘w’ registered Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from outside an address in Court Close overnight Saturday 12th May.
• A violin and case inclusive of accessories was stolen from a display in the RSPCA shop 29 West St. This occured between 1 and 215 pm Tuesday 15th May. Other crimes have been reported over the same period. To protect the wishes of the victims, and not prejudice any ongoing investigations these will not be reported. Theft of a trailer Overnight Thursday May 3rd a 6ft x 4ft silver 'Brenderup' trailer was stolen from an address in St Katherine’s avenue Bridport. Pc 1994 Evans at Bridport Poilce station would like to hear from you if you have any information relating to this incident or would like to be informed if this item has been offered for sale. Theft of vehicle parts At approximately 1pm on Saturday a green Peugeot 306 had an indicator light cluster removed and stolen whilst the car was parked in Morrison’s car park. This occurred as the owner was shopping. Counterfeit currency A number of incidents have been reported recently in the West Dorset area in relation suspected scams involving Eastern Europeans. Reports include that individuals are attempting to pass high value currency of dubious quality, whilst purchasing low value items to obtain the maximum change. Remain vigilant and report any suspicious incidents or liaise with the banks to check any notes you have any doubts about. Arrests Over the same period 16 arrests were made: 3x Assault actual bodily harm 2x Burglary 1x Common assault 1x Criminal damage 4x Theft 2x Disorderly behaviour 1x Detained under the mental health act 1x Positive breath test –drink driving 1x Warrant failing to appear in court If you have any information regarding the above offences or any other crimes, then please come forward and help us with our enquiries: it may be your evidence, which successfully secures a conviction.
