Police are appealing for any witnesses that were travelling on the A3052 from Lyme Regis to Rousden at around 8.30pm and may have seen a beige Vauxhall Astra or a black Renault Megane.
They are asked to contact 08452 777444 quoting log 1249 1/5/07. At 8.40pm on Tuesday 1 May 2007 the police were informed by ambulance control of a single vehicle RTC on the a3052 between Rousden, Devon and Lyme Regis, Dorset.
The vehicle, a Vauxhall Astra, was travelling from Dorset into Devon. The vehicle mounted the grass verge before it crossed the road colliding with the offside hedgerow which then caused the vehicle to overturn and it came to rest on the nearside. The 25yr old male driver from Monacute in Somerset was trapped in the car and had to be removed by the fire service. He was flown by Dorset police helicopter to Derriford hospital, Plymouth where his condition remains serious. The road was closed until 2.00am the next morning to allow investigations at the scene, recovery of the car and clearing debris. Police ref 1249 010507
