Over the last 7 days a number of crimes were reported to us from around the area, these include:
• Between the 9th and 11th of April a 2 foot high tree planted in a pot was stolen from the rear of an address in Barrack street. • An object believed to be a stone was thrown at a premise in the Broadmeade, which cracked a window. This occurred overnight Wednesday 11th April. • Overnight Friday 13th April a memorial bench was stolen from the vicinity of Bridport community hospital. • A First bus company coach had it’s road tax disc stolen whilst it was parked in Tannery road bus station, between Saturday 14th and Monday 16th April. Other crimes have been reported over the same period. To protect the wishes of the victims, and not prejudice any ongoing investigations these will not be reported. Criminal damage Over the weekend there were a number of criminal damages caused in and around the area. The most significant was a 5 x 5 ft plate glass window at A. G Down, funeral directors, South Street. The front window of the shop was smashed during the early hours of Sunday 15th April. The noise from this damage would have been loud enough to awaken people from their sleep. Other damage was reported, this included a pane of glass was smashed at the Women’s Institute, North Street Bridport, This occurred over the weekend and was reported Monday 16th April. Arrests Over the same period 4 arrests were made: 2 x common assault 2 x criminal damage If you have any information regarding the above offences or any other crimes, then please come forward and help us with our enquiries: it may be your evidence, which successfully secures a conviction.
