Adam Edwards at the Sunday Telegraph has hammered the final nail into the coffin by not only plagiarising Vanessa Thorpe’s Notting Hill On Sea article, but by continuing to celebrate the area for all the wrong reasons! Again he refers to Hitchen and the mystery of the famous cinema patrons. He interviews a rep from Humberts who gleefully reports that 50% of house sales over the last year have been to Londoners.
He reports there to be a plethora of deli’s and wine bars. The reality is, THERE ARE NO WINE BARS, and THERE ARE NO DELIS (the Dairy Maid doesn’t count!) And fails to mention our surfeit of charity shops and chavs. To top it all – the only few words taken from Bridport Radio don’t present any arguments and are purely a nod in our direction. The article is an INSULT and you can read it HERE We need to contact Adam Edwards and outline the fact that he has totally misrepresented Bridport in the national press and that a balanced argument needs to be published. We MUST ACT QUICKLY. The nation MUST know that Bridport is hostile to its new image. You can imagine the headline! “PEASANTS REVOLT AT TELEGRAPH TRASH”.
