air hogHaving observed some poor woman at Malaga airport having to unload her personal belongings from her bag at the check-in, because the bag was slightly over the weight limit, it occurred to me how unfair the airlines are being with regard to weight on aircraft.

I, fortunately weigh around 11 stone and the guy behind me was at least 17 stone and would probably take up two seats if he could get away with it.So why does my baggage allowance have to coincide with his? Why am i paying the same fuel taxes as he is? Why is there not a scale that weighs the passenger and his/her baggage? then according to the weight indicated, the charges should be on a sliding scale and charged accordingly. Surely that would be fairer than the system used at present?

I cannot understand how the British people put up with such inequality and unfairness, what happened to the fight we used to have? Have they at last managed to drain it from us by changing the rules so often that we are in a state of confusion? I mean, we can no longer find anything on our beaches without being arrested nowadays too!! The country is gone potty damnit,

Maybe if the council tax on second homes was doubled and no-one under the age of 55 was allowed to move here(unless relations in area or sponsored by a friend(who has to pay for any of the services you use if you cannot))that would help the situation for local housebuyers.Oh and also you are not allowed to complain about the sheep, cows cockerals, seagulls or any noisy business you choose to move in next to!!! Anyway, as the gentleman wrote in the Bridport News a few weeks back, the roads are bad and we are not allowed to expect them to be repaired as we live in the country!!But then we should be grateful for the attention we get from our 'betters' who live or have lived in the city, and come here and try and show us poor country folk how it should be done.Martin Clunes being the exception. He just gets on with it and doesn't try and force his opinions on anyone or his political beliefs.

Yeah but do remember that the council are doing you a favour, as if you become ill in your dotage, the family are not allowed to look forward to having the profit from the house you slogged your guts out to buy but it has to go to pay for the care you need(that you payed out in anticipation for years). Also you won't have to get in trouble with the law when you try and kill the council official, who is trying to charge you more council tax 'cos you got off your arse and improved the house by putting on a conservatory, when they come round to inspect.See the council are only thinking of our welfare and there is always the caravan on waste ground if you get evicted from your private rent!!!

When I bought my house, it was ex-authoirty so there was a clause on it (can't remember the number of the clause) but it basically meant that only residents of DT6 were allowed to buy it, and you have to have been a resident yourself for the last 5 years. Perhaps this clause should be applied to a percentage of all house sales in the area. That way, the vicious circle could come to an end.

even if you are off to the med wear a coat and combat trousers and fill your pockets up with heavy stuff like battery chargers and adaptors. Put your food in a Scummerfileds bag and add in some extra stuff, just say it's food and won't be going on plane....works for me. Alternitively go Size Zero, now you know why posh spice is so slim

You get what you pay for, cheap tickets in exchange for cheap cramped seats and non existant customer service. There was an old lady on my flight back from Malaga who was coming back to bury her dead husband. The service she received was appalling and there was no-one on landing to help her. I watched the coffin go three times round the carouselle.
