Here we go.. What is a Goujon? Well it ain’t far off a fish finger, Goujon is the French word for small, fried strips of fish, these bad boys were served piping hot with fresh sauce tartare, crispy green salad with a lovely light dressing, borlotti beans and doorstep slices of bread.
I like the B&Barny, there is always a real happy buzz about the place that still allows you to relax and unwind. The food arrived quickly, probably because I was sitting next to the dumb waiter, the goujons were snaffled down in no time, crunchy & crispy deep fried plaice in breadcrumbs, nice. I am not sure whether or not they use local fish, I am sure they will let us know it’s provenance. The tonic works for me, they used Schweppes from the small glass bottles which allows it to maintain the fizz and edge, a lot of establishments pour from those huge plastic bottles many weeks old, flat rubbish.
I shall return. Well done.
