As promised Bentley has organised a springtime intimate comedy night at Beech and Barnicott. This one has two great headline acts (Alistair Barrie and Paul; b Edwards (the rock and roll poet) with the irrepressible Bentley as compere hopefully featuring a new song about a virginal, eunuch, a-sexual, celibate. (the mind boggles) Wed March 21st 7.30 for 8pm start. (Dress code yellow) Tickets go on sale at £7.50 on 3rd March "WARNING" The last comedy night sold out within a week of going on sale and there are only a limited number of tickets available .
Says Bentley, “I know that a lot of people are being disappointed by not being able to get tickets for the smaller shows but I am still waiting for the big venue and the dates to be ready for the massive shows I have planned. The future "big" shows will be the most ambitious thing I have ever put on and will feature up to 4 hours of live entertainment including comedy, dancers, live game show, music, magic, loads of audience participation and much more besides, that will enable it to live up to the proposed title of "Bentley's Bawdyville". It is going to be a genuinely beaujangling, extravaganza of a night out unlike anything else available now in the UK and possibly even the universe. In the meantime it is an absolute pleasure to put on a few smaller pure comedy gigs at B&B which has proved itself to be a superb atmospheric venue for a comedy night. I have been asked, well pestered really, as to why I had dropped the dress code as that was part of the fun so it is back. For those not in the know it means that some item on or with you has to be yellow. The acts are absolutely superb and both are headliners in their own right. Paul B Edwards has performed in Bridport before and is a great favorite of mine with his mad songs and nonsense. Alistair Barrie is a marvelous comedian that I had the pleasure of working with in a comedy club in Singapore and after the first 2 minutes of his set I knew he would be perfect for the discerning Bridport comedy crowd. I have a couple of new songs to try out and as normal will be taking a sideways view of life in and around Bridport. |
