ImageThe Kate Garret Band have just finished a recording session with a new project 'the Village Band', where they play more tradtional songs and tunes. The group features Andy Poore on vocals, guitar and concertina, Lucy Roberts on fiddle and Simon Emmerson (Afro-celts) on cittern and mandolin.  The track 'Pilsden Pen' is written by Simon and is to feature on an album called Imagined Village, due to be released on Realworld Records in the autumn.

Other artists on the album include Billy Bragg, Sheila Chandra, Eliza and Martyn Carthy and Paul Weller. There will be a UK tour in November and a performance at Womad, featuring the marvellous Barney M. Brown on cello! The tour dates will appear on our website www.thekategarrettband.com/

GIG NEWS
The Kate Garrett Band will be performing on:

Jan 30th, 8pm. Pizza Express, Golden Cross, Cornmarket, Oxford. The KGB continue their monthly residency care of Delicious Music and i magazine. Wonderful food and special guests. Free entry.

Feb 3rd (tbc), 2pm  FOPP, Gloucester Green, Oxford. EP Promotion and instore show at the new FOPP store, bring all your friends and buy cheap CD's and DVD's!


Coming up:
March 13th, 8pm. Port Mahon. Mark Bosley continues his tireless promotion of local music.
In the spring The KGB will be at the new FOPP, Bath for an instore show,and EP promotion, with local bands in support.


Other gig news:
Sat April 21st The KGB will be doing a special show with Lisa Fitzgibbon and Abbie Lathe at Bridport Arts Centre, South St. Bridport. Dorset. During the day there will be a singing/music biz advice workshop from Kate, Abbie and Lisa. Booking office: 01308 424204. http://www.bridport-arts.com/

The KGB are booked for this years Wychwood Festival 2007 held at Cheltenham Racecourse the first weekend of June. Its a great festy with an eclectic mix of music and lovely camping.
