LYRIC THEATRE UPDATE E-mail

Bridport Radio has recieved some up to date information about the lyric Theatre (formerly Bernard Gale School of Dance) after some speculation of how it was going to be used, see related article...  This is from its prospective owner Margaret Barrett.

The Lyric was sold through the "Land" department, rather than the "Residential" department of the Estate Agents.   This doesn't mean that the building is going to be pulled down and the site used for a residential development!
It was my offer that has been accepted by the Gale family, subject to survey and planning permission.
My recent survey has revealed that extensive repairs are required on the old building, and I am submitting plans for permission to convert the front of the building into 2 small residences, and the auditorium of the theatre into an Indoor Soft Play Area and Family Eating Centre.
This is a facility that I think is much needed in the Bridport area, and I hope it will be welcomed by local people.
I hope to run this as a small family business with my 2 daughters.   We have happy memories of the Bernard Gale School of Dancing and the pantomimes, and look forward to the building being used again by children for fun, exercise and healthy eating.
The lovely old building will be treated with the respect that it deserves, and I hope will again become a popular ammenity for families in Bridport.

Are you a Quaker or were you part of a group of Quakers but not one yourself? Seems to me that Jesus said his followers should 'not be part of the world' but put their trust in 'God's Kingdom', which would suggest that any involvement in world affairs is not not christian. I'm a Pagan myself so I can dabble all I like. I personally worship the The M40, United States Marine Corps' standard-issue sniper rifle as an entity in its own right, and choose to devote all my spare time to greasing the barrel (which is a euphemism for taking a speedy opportune shot). God Bless Those Pagans.
