WHY SO FEW ARRESTS? E-mail

You’re nicked!Drugs bust, but no arrests? Our latest Crime update reads like good news. The drug houses have been raided, and the culprits may? be evicted. Highly unlikey as they have to be re-housed under our system. Probably better to leave them where they are - we all know what happens to rotten apples. If the raids were really a success, and not just more propaganda, and loads of substances were seized, how come the only arrest for drugs that week was ONE ! Perhaps the exercise was not as successful as the Crime Report would like us to believe. I wonder what drug that the thieves who stole the charity boxes take - how low can you get to steal from a church and charity. It's hard to believe that Bridport has residents who would stoop that low.

I suggest we all start dumping our rubbish up there and then we can blame them for the mess. Then we can write to the Daily Mail (which I believe gives a balanced and fair view of our society) about the dirty stinking hippies or pikeys or (insert your own pet hate here...) about how our property values are being effected and how we have to lock our doors at night, how we live in fear for our children's lives and how the country has gone to the dogs etc etc. The other alternative is that, as long as these people are keeping the area clean and hygienic, are not damaging the surrounding area and are not a financial burden on the local community, just leave them to it. Lets face it who thinks that living in some scabby old lorry next to one of the busiest roads in the country, in a disused lay-by (which is good for nothing apart from the use it is now getting) sounds like much of a life choice. The people who have taken up residence either have no choice or no imagination in which case ""move along please"" is of no use to anyone be it morally, ethically or practically.

Oh ooaargh, how can the roads be safer and peaceful when a ten minute journey is turned into a half hour trip when every hundred yards the wrinkly in front stops in the middle of the road to point out that lovely house has got a thatched roof !! Probably never seen one having lived in some crime ridden city, before moving down this way to a bargain property, bit like you and your friends possibly !! I am surprised you have ventured onto a modern vehicle with numatic tyres from the good old days of starting handles and wooden wheels.Good for you ! I will be very surprised if any of you ""Look at all those people waving to us"" brigade that fester along our pot holed highways, have ever heard a bad word shouted at them. Considering over half the stiffs on the roads hear as bad as they can see !! Unlike the Chelsea tractors that you city folk drive, i tend to use my 4x4 how it was designed.Off road.Yes in the country we tend to get our vehicles proper dirty, you know like chasing ramblers through fields til their lungs birst whilst they shout about ""right to roam"". Like i have said before,if you want to drive like Miss Daisy thats your prerogative. Just have the decency to pull over when you see a queue of cars behind your self, and swallow that selfish pride of ""I'm doing 40mph everywhere, and so should everone else!! "".... Merry Christmas everyone..

That one in west street. Was it two minutes after the carnival, when Paul Hindes unloaded his car on the wrong side of the road?

Posted by Hooha, on 18-12-2006 12:02,
Yeah I've seen him. He lives in his parent's cellar in the Happy Island area. Starved of natural light and social life, he has become a pale/slippery weaponry fetishist. Rifles, knives, Night Vision Goggles and a Ninja Costume complete with Tabi boots and throwing stars adorn his woodchip wallpaper walls. His Transformers (TM) duvet cover is stained with over a decade of Gun Oil, Sperm and Irn-Bru, and his highly illegal 15 Gazilla-Bit 'leased' ADSL line hums faintly at night. Beware The Bat.

Good answers there, I haven't had a chance to ""TomTom"" them, does magnetic variation over 70 odd years come into it? - Anyhoo give yourselves two points. (and I guess the Bat can just ""wing"" me).

Posted by bogbeast, on 21-12-2006 20:48,
And how do people who care but have no idea who the dealers are or have proof do this then Bogbreath ? Sounds like your on a downer !! Christmas wishes..

Posted by Ivor Bigun, on 22-12-2006 11:53,
Thanks Ivasmallun , I'm sure excess christmas spirit will resolve my downer and bring me back to the reality that isn't Bridport, maybe you don't know who the idiots dealers are but there's alot who do...And on the note everyone have a nice xmas

Posted by The Bat, on 22-12-2006 19:09,
Here, does this mean the deadline for manifestos has been extended then? Wot with the Xmas party being postponed and all that. If I can shake of being framed by the Grand High Wizard, I might stand for office (or is that orifice?).

I don't know much about shooting but isn't he pointing the gun the wrong way? Or like him am I missing something?

Posted by DELBOY IN BRIDPORT, on 22-12-2006 21:47,
Its not just the dealers but the people who fence the stuff that the smackheads nick that need to be sorted. When I hear that one well known smackhead has received yet another light sentence for causing untold misery because his defence lawyer pleads that he is trying to change I nearly puke. Yes he is trying to change, about £800 into notes. Every time you see one of thises peices of shite walking down the road phone the police and report them for acting suspiciously. If you see them in a shop tel the shopkeeper that you think you just saw the steal something. Just keep doing it over and over but don't turn a blind eye and don't give me any wooly liberal crud about reform. Rehab or life inside where they can get all the gear they want withouit having to nick anything from us. HBah Humbug

So its clear for all to see that you admit to driving slowly to antagonise those still living in the 21st century ! I must ask who is asking you to drive fast, just pull over and park your ignorance whilst the rest of the world can carry on at a normal(for this century)speed. If you really want to go slower and enjoy the countryside views to a maximum, why not do us real motorist's a favour and take the bus.Nothing goes much slower than them, even you !!!!

Posted by ooaargh, on 23-12-2006 19:32,
Have to agree with ooaargh, and Delboys idea sounds like the perfect remedy. Now who do we know with some sniper experience to take the job on ? With a ski mask on, he may well come down from the town hall, for those special jobs..

Posted by Rustic, on 26-12-2006 20:11,
Drive fast smoke crack and worship satan is the only way forward. If someone is driving slower than you would like to travel use that fancy police move and nudge them off the road. If they are old what does it matter they have had their life and now it's our turn. If we all drove like me with total and absolute disregard and contempt for other raod users it would be a better place as it would keep some of the whinging old farts out of our way. Move over grandad I am coming through

AS always a cracking night but two questions need to be answered. When is the next one?? (don't make us wait too long Bentley) and when is the next Big Big Night Out cos I want to get dressed up again.

Topless Barmaids and a sniper game are my suggestions.

How about leaving the party until carnival time in August? As Bridport Radio is a pro bridport Website I think it would be a great idea to do it around the town celebrates itself! Besides it would be in the summer and all the local people who live away for the rest of the year tend to come home around this time as well as christmas, so i think there would be a good turn out!

Posted by zippy03333, on 19-01-2007 20:36,
Well thats hypocritical ooaargh, there you are telling normal motorists to slow down and then you go tell everyone else that YOUR in a rush !!

Solution No. 1 - Do what they do in Holland. Hand out free drugs to the druggies until the drugs kill them. In the meantime there is no drug related crime. Solution No.2 - One well placed man with a high volocity rifle and telescopic sight.

~zippy03333~ ""Spend the money saved in policing on education."" How about educating the police in a different structure ? In the 70's and 60's a lot of the police force were recruited in a basic fashion, inspectors grew up in the area they worked in, they knew the local structures, they were(most of the time) one step away from being criminals themselves... Thats what we need. That, and ROBOCOP

Kneel nothing has changed they are just better at hiding it and the takings are greater!

Don't get me wrong - I support our Police, really. What I do not understand is why it took four Police Cars to deal with one drunk driver.. one car stopped the car and within five minutes the whole street was blocked with the others. The driver was not being difficult, just obviously drunk. So as far as I could see, several hours of Police time were wasted just standing and watching..This probably why if you want the Police in a hurry .. you have to wait your turn.. Perhaps that was the highlight of the night? and we are a realy crime free zone.

Posted by The Man with the Badge, on 07-09-2007 03:26,
Stand up to those who make life miserable for others... if you witness a crime, tell the Police. Let them use you as a witness. People are getting away with far too much through lack of evidence. Stand up and be counted. The Police cannot do it all themselves, we need to support the boys and girls in blue. Remember, one day you may need them.

Posted by tuzo, on 07-09-2007 09:01,
an honorable sentiment (mwb 23) but what do you do when giving evidence actually creates problems for you and your family.. bricks through windows.. attack of family members etc, as I am afraid to say happens in this little town, and the police know of this.... no names.. will let you guess.

Posted by The Man with the Badge, on 07-09-2007 10:16,
Tuzo, I take on board your concerns. It's a difficult one I know. The choice however difficult is to stand back and let the moronic thugs get away with it or stand together as a community and deal with these problems.

Posted by Rosieo6, on 07-09-2007 14:45,
Trouble being tht 'the community' has seen nothing when you get your head kicked in in front of numerous witnesses and even if you can prove you were elsewhere when the local yobbo says you assaulted him it cuts no ice.when you know a hundred percent who did it nothing happens, take a photo and you are done for violating human rights of the toerag.innocent until proven guilty only applies to the lawless not joe public!

A simple solution to all the problems of so-called minor crime in this & other towns would be to de-criminalise heroin use as was government policy not so far back in the past in the UK. If heroin users ( of which there are an inordinate amount in this small country town ) could attend a prescribing clinic for their daily 'dose' then it would have many positive affects. 1/ the incidence of shoplifting & related crimes would fall exponentially as the addicts would have no need to feed their habits in this way 2/ having to take the drug in a clinical environment would take away much of the mystique in volved in taking the drug therefore discouraging future addicts from trying the drug 3/ if taken in a clinical environment this would eliminate the need to share needles & suchlike thereby saving the already over-stretched NHS valuable funds. I believe that this programme has been piloted in various cities in the UK recently with some success. Isn't it time that that the government woke up to the fact that drug abuse is a way of life now for millions of people, both young & old & living in rural & urban areas.I think it is about time that something other than the 'zero tolerance' approach was looked into? This would benefit both the drug users & the rest of the law abiding citizens of this country. The people of this rather ignorant at times backwater of a town should face up to the fact that this town is now known as 'bagport' to outsiders! People throughout history have taken narcotics for whatever reason & by criminalising a large percentage of our population we are storing up trouble for the future. To sumarise the government is happy to make taxes on the two greatest killers in our society, alcohol & tobacco,( which by the way kill more people put together than all the illegal drugs in total) so why not narcotics as well ( which by the way kill a fraction of the people that these so-called government sponsored drugs do! )
I would be pleased to hear comments on this issue as I'm sure it has affected either you the reader or someone close to you?
