LADY CROSSES ROAD E-mail

ImageOld Lady Snapped by Speed Camera Finding Her Way Across Busy Road.  Nov 23rd 2006 The famous old lady with the 2 hour bus ride to cross the road is pictured here… er… crossing the road from the bus stop in her home village. (Just dismounted the 5.20 Bridport – Axminster) Admittedly, her campaigning point is that the summer traffic is heavier and makes it harder to find a suitable gap. However, it seems that the ability to cross the road is not impaired by night-time conditions or physical deterioration. Is that a real Zimmer? Or a Jet-pack?
The-poor-old-lady-that-can’t-get-across-the-road-campaign was partly orchestrated by Pro by-passers of Chideock. The MP had his say, and Radio 2's Steve Wright In The Afternoon Show monitored the situation to the nation.
These poor suburbanites purchased their dream properties on the cheap, and somehow failed to notice the A35 trunk road on their Dorset doorsteps.
Obviously a new road destroying some of the most beautiful countryside in the county is required to give them the peace and quiet they demand, and double the values of their homes.
Keep an eye open for the old gel as you speed through the village. Or, better still maybe slow down, drive carefully, and let the old gel cross. Thereby saving those goddamn trees.

We could all park there for free! Would it be against their human rights to move their TRUCKS out? The Bat's got the hump 'cos they're out of range!

I believe they were offerd a pedestrian crossing outside the village store about ayear ago. Even went as far as being surveyed by the traffic bods, but the people who live by the store objected. It would be cheaper to build a pedestrian underpass than a flaming bypass. Oh and while they are at it, give them a couple of tennis courts thrown in (seems to be the in thing lately).

She is there most days with her 6 cans of Stella in a zimmer frame. Numerous cars have stopped for her to cross before, only to be told in a stern voice "" What the b....y hell are you doing, i'm trying to make a point here, now .... off !! "". I like my tree's as well, especially if theres a rambler tied to it !!

That's not a zimmer frame or a shopping trolley. Look closely, it's a mutant android/cyborg orangutang facing the camera (it appears to be wearing some type of telepathic steel head gear). What are you lot on? can't BELIEVE you mistook it for a shopping trolley.

Ha..the bat might be out of range, but I ain't, 1st rule of sniping...find a good vantage point in a relevent area. Seriously though, I know that they prolly ain't angels (even Ronnie Biggs said no one is innocent). But if all the good and HONEST people of Bridders have to worry about is some hippies situated on dorchester road, what a nice world we live in....BOLLOX!

Might well pass shirt on to Leon as part of the burying hatchet peace process if that's ok with you? Truth is I'd love to create a PC version, just I haven't a clue how to do it.

Laughter is the purpose of a comedy night and on the night in question there was plenty of it as there always is when Bentley puts on a gig. Having been to loads of them over the years I have always had a great time and if the odd act goes a bit pear shaped then thats all the more fun and part of live comedy. I think there is some personal sniping going on in the review which is a bit of a shame. The reviewer is right in the sense that Leons character didn't work on the night however most people who launch a character at a comedy venue die on their arse the first few times. There are obviously some ""issues"" between Leon and Andy however both seem to have a knack at getting access to grant money for their various (and sometimes dubious) ventures. In the spirit of genuinely ""doing something for Bridport"" and in the spirit of peace and harmony, wouldn't it be good if they could manage to put their own egos to one side for a while and join their significant creative forces. That way they might be able to create something together that is really worthwhile for Bridport. Art can bring love!!!
