Bucky Doo Square....or is it now an overspill CAR PARK for the WHITE VAN MAN?.

Just because they have removed some of the seating in the square perhaps for refurbishment or making further space for the ingress of Wobbly Tables and chairs for the various eating houses in the locality  do we have to put up with ImageWHITE VANS BEING PARKED ALL DAY in the Square?! Have WORKMEN or should that be re-listed as....Lets sit here and have our 10's with a nice butty from one of the shops togther with a hot cupa! and the headlines from not only the 'Daily Sport' but a bit of radio too... volume high to ear splitting... before we get out of our precious steed... try and walk at least 20 paces with a bit of timber or even a 'Worktool' not to return for at least an hour before the next break for LUNCH... Then its back on the tools for about a couple of hours before it's time to pack up and go home... FREE PARK AND SKIVE I SAY....

Don't you try it though with your motor vehicle and leave it there for 2 to 3 hours... you'd be had up for proceeding with a vehicle beyond 15 feet from a road or track therefore contraviening some obscure by-law... AND END UP GETTING YOUR MOTOR CRUSHED.

No objection to White Van Man dropping off his tools etc. but do we have to put up with them having FREE ALL DAY PARKING...Lucky So and So's.

BUT could there be a solution to this staring us in the face... the Congestion Of Bridport  Buckydoo Leisure And Reflection Square... Charging Zone. This area would of cause be refered to in its short form "COBBLARS"

We could ring fence the money raised to go towards  a ROOF FOR THE SQUARE so you can eat your takeaway food without the SKY RATS doing on it ! This would also be benificial to covering the GIANT HOT TUB previously suggested for the BUCKY DOO SQUARE...

Oh well - suppose I'll have to either buy a WHITE VAN  or pay my 'ALL DAY PARKING CHARGE' again tomorrow and the next day etc. etc.

Had a chat with Theo the eco-worrier - he of the facial tattoo and gingerish mohicanette - he's submitting a planing application for a boathouse and seaweed fertilizer business on his land in Hooke - 300 feet above sea level - Now there's forward thinking.

Actually Bungle there is an electricity outlet in Bucky Doo. The bands that sometimes play there and use electric instruments plug into it. It is secreted under a metal cover set in the cobbles. I think your reply is a little over the top for a website that is generally very funny and entertaining. I can accept the spurious reasoning for having white vans parked at Bucky Doo while work is being carried out. What do you think the council's explanation is for allowing market traders to load and unload on the traffic lights and obscurring the traffic lights to motorists? One day a pedestrain is going to walk out into the road thinking it's safe when it isn't, or there will at least be a collision due to the lights being hidden behind a white van. Surely if you are going to bang on about health and safey and how well the council are doing you should raise the fact that they let market stall pitches at blatently dangerous places. I snipe, therefore I am.

Anyone know how Chez Cuddy got to fence of his piece of pavement ? If all the shops did it the market would not have any room - so no vans by the lights and front gardens for us all to sit in..

Bar Shhh! all the way Andy! Although the ""bar that doesn't exist"" and it's mythological nature must be protected at all costs! Remember you don't know WHO your dealing with on this site!

As the the targetof the above mentioned ""heckle"" I think I should point out that, as far as I could make out, Leon was actually trying to bury the hatchet regarding his previous nonsense about the big burn. The stuff about coveting my neighbour's arse was, I think, an attempt at humour - certainly nothing to do with the good lady vicar who actually lives next door.

It is possible to shop in town at local suppliers at good prices, you can get tat too if argos is your thing. The internet! look around town, Woolworths, Boots, WH smiths, New Look, Choices etc They are already here! The small local shops are what people come here for not Chav and Co.

Dear Miss Kitty, I too had problems with length of my load, luckily the editor has now wielded his scalpel and what's left should now be far more manageable. However, if this taster leaves you with a longing for the real thing, the film will be shown in full surround-sound, large screen, technicolour glory at the Bridport Radio Christmas Party - December 22nd at the Beehive. This event is likely to sell out - so please get your tickets early
