Tonight at the Beach & Barnicott. It has been 12 months since Bentley has been able to put on any comedy and so he has pulled something a bit special out of the bag. Bentley says "I am waiting (like loads of other people) for the cinema to open as I have plans for a massive cabaret / burlesque show but we will have to wait for that. In the meantime it is becoming increasingly difficult to pop up for a pint without someone asking or even demanding that I get my finger out and put on some comedy.
The last little gig we did was at B&B and went really well with a great intense atmosphere. I felt that although the comics were very good they were a so I have contacted an old mate of mine called Ian Cognito who is my favourite powerhouse comic on the circuit and has been for the last 15 years. The close environment of the B&B venue aqnd his explosive demenour shpould make for an immense night and he will do a special extended set. I will be openeing as it has been some time since I flexed my comedy muscle in town and would like people to know what I get up to when I am gigging around the country. For the regulars there will be an appearence of the bridport news. There is also a special treat in the form of Merlin a 19 year old open mike spot who is performing for five minutes for the first time in front of a comedy crowd. I look forward to it as he is local and is the first wit brave enough to tread the boards. There are only 65 tickets available for the event from Beach and Barnicott at £7.50 The gig is Wednesday 15th November at 8pm. Be there or be bored to death by the endless tales of hilarity by the people who were there. |
