great news that the west bay sea angling club were able to have their competition despite the recent weather.
a very interesting, though confusing, competition report was issued afterwards, could someone explain "%" to an ordinary person? is it a code? its supposed to let us know how heavy or big the fish were but i make no sense of it.
The main thing that bothers me about the whole angling "competition" idea, is the seeming lack of thought for fish conservation! I mean, we all know that a lot of fish were caught over that weekend, but they were all dead when they got weighed in! something needs sorting here i reckon, and i have a suggestion for next year. Why not have monitors/scrutineers on each boat, or at least trust the skippers to be honest and have the fish weighed on board, and if theyre not wanted for food, release them back into our already depleted sea? just a thought, i really do think it need some thought what do you think? what does the angling community think? answers here please cheers, dragon
