The Jurassic Open Boat Festival Has been re-scheduled due to forcasted bad weather It will now take place on the 14th and 15th of October. Sponsored by Atlantic Fishers. Overall 1st prize Atlantic Fisher 260 including outboard & trailer. This boat competition is open to all size of boats, or if you do not have your own boat why not book a place on one of the charter boats. The competition is fished over two days so do not worry if you can only fish one day of the two as there are prizes for each day & for the overall winner of the two days.

The times of fishing are: Saturday 30th September 10.00am—4.00pm. Scales close at 5.30pm Sunday 1st October 9.00am—3.00pm. Scales close at 4.30pm If the competition is cancelled due to bad weather it will be fished on 14th & 15th October to the same times. The entry fee is: £10 per person per day or if you pre book you receive a 10% discount Optional pools £5 each day. The prizes each day are best two fish of different species % of specimen, 1st, 2nd & 3rd  there will also be a prize for the best junior and Lady each day. The overall winner of the weekend will be the person with the best two fish % of specimen. With prizes also going to the best % of specimen for Bass, Pollack, Flatfish,  Skate & Ray, Bream, Bull Huss, Conger, Cod, Wrasse & best fish of any other species under 5lb & over 5lb other species. Competitors may only weigh one of each species in per day. The fishing area will be Portland to Beer Head and out as far as you like between these two points.
