PHANTOM FLY TIPPER E-mail

Why do locals still insist on dumping rubbish around our lanes. Here's a picture from a Bridport Radio member that shows what appears to be the contents of a builders/house clearers van left on the track between Stoney Head and Loders. Among the rubbish are a number of Carnival collection tubs, Jessops and Goadsby and Harding signs so its definately local. There is a REWARD for information leading to the successfull prosecution of the filthy low lives that perpetrated this crime.

The Stoney Head phantom fly tipper has struck again, not only any old rubbish but asbestos sheets which have to be disposed of carefully. Someone must know who has dismantled a shed or garage recently...

If no one else claims the golf club, can I have it?

All the rubbish has been cleared but some kind soul has donated a burnt out car on the same lane. What we need is a nice abandoned car with a remote web cam trained on it, too much to expect the police to rig one up I supose!!!

May I tentatively take Retired 1's abandoned car with webcam inside one stage further? If police placed a decrepid old van with tinted widows at the location a sniper could easily fit inside and await the people dumping this rubbish. A quick and easy solution, two taps to the chest, or if Mr Sniper is in a hurry one accurate shot between the eyes. Simple!!

Just to set the record straight - meetings are held AT the Conservative Club NOT by them.

Are the mindless morons responsible for flytipping doing so because they have filled their gardens with ash and half-burnt debris left over from the garden fires they HAVE to light as soon as the evening temperature reaches that magical point where it would actually be pleasant to sit outside? I don`t think there has been one dry evening since May when it has been possible to enjoy the al fresco experience without being ""kippered"" by a refuse fire-although it is very absorbing watching the smoke, ash and debris waft along the river valley in its relentless path to ruin yet another summers evening-I despair!!!

Not that I have ever dreamt of fly-tipping or even cow-toppling, but the dump in South Street has ridiculous regulations regarding which vehicles are allowed to dump there. No trade vehicles can dump there, even un-marked vans aren't allowed to dump there. When I was moving house last year I hired a luton from DVR and after having moved all of our furniture I collected the remnants of a runied summerhouse and loaded the van. On arriving at the dump they turned me away saying that my vehicle was a trade vehicle.-? I had to take the stuff all the way to Crewkerne because Somerset County Council haven't adopted this ridiculous rule! Since this episode I discovered that if I'd parked on the road and man-hawled the stuff in through the gates in South Street they would've been fine with it!

IF the tipper could be found out the best course of action would be..say nothing..borrow a large lorry and in the dead of night empty the rubbish and any other that you could find lying around(not hard!)and deposit on phantoms lawn or outside their house!!

re: carlito's comments. That isnt entirely true either, i took a van to the tip with some old furniture in it, and before we even parked up round the corner a rather unhelpfull man came out(not a local either) and told us to b****r off. he wouldnt even let us bribe him. something should be done! Fine so we possibly can not dump asbestos there (I wouldn't touch the stuff anyway if I were you!) But none the less, what if you have a micra or a mini or even a smart car...how in the blue blazes are you supposed to fit a settee and two arm chairs on that? SOMETIMES...there may be no other choice but to fly tip. Personally if I had to fly tip, I would take it all up to the council offices and ask them what to do with it... if they were to say go to crewkerne then they should pay the fuel. or they should write out an exemption form once you have explained youy plight. I dont know... it seems as if the world is going to pieces, Bridport and all.

Here in Bournemouth our local beat officer had the right idea. From the rubbish he traced the scum bags responsible for dumping a load of rubbish on the local common. He then gathered up all the rubbish he could find and took it round to the homes of these scum and dumped it. Now why can't we have some more sensible policing as carried out by this particular officer. People would think twice if they new the rubbish they dumped wold be returned to their front gardens by a uniformed officer.
