 Now The Bull public bar is closed (probably for ever) those aficionados of the miserable old gits can find solace by paying a visit to the West Dorset Club in south street opposite the arts centre where they will find the more entertaining of the miserable old gits considerably cheered up and enlivened by the company of cheerful staff and cheaper prices, good beer and an atmosphere becoming much rarer in local bars.
Membership costs a tenner and enthusiasts will save that in the first week by paying club prices instead of the palmers dearer than London tariff they currently use - and for some rounds even cheaper than the cheapest pub in Bridport - where the real moaners are in charge. I have no connection with this place other than being a recent recruit - I like it.
