A photography competition to celebrate food in all its guises is being run as part of this year’s Bridport Food Festival. “We are looking for photos of everything from food still growing in the soil, to finished recipes on the plate,” explains Sarah Turner of Bridport Food Festival. “We hope to see photographs that truly reflect the local food culture but anything goes and we may find that the best photograph is a string of fabulous sausages in a butchers window!
As long as the subject is food, we will accept the entry and we hope that lots of children will take part too – the winners will be judged by the Festival Committee and announced on Sunday 9th July in the Sea to Vale Marquee at the Festival.” The Festival is taking place at Asker Meadows on 7th - 9th July with the Bridport Farmers’ Market and many other stalls on Saturday, and the Gustomarket with a range of different and exciting stalls to visit, as well as art and craft exhibitions on Sunday. Lesley Waters will be signing books, doing cookery demonstrations and helping choose the winning photo. There will also be a Screen Bites event, a hog roast, a beer & cider festival and plenty more – see www.bridportfoodfestival.org.uk The winning photographer will receive a voucher from Pinn’s Photographic. Entries (maximum size 6” x 8”) should be sent by 30th June to:
