The Ropemakers, West Street, Bridport bring you a right rocking itinerary of gigs for this October featuring a bunch of talent old and new and of course the Ropemakers Annual Conker Championship on the 26th, with the proceeds of the competition going to the Dorset Air Ambulance Charity.
Friday 3rd - The Devils Rejects - 9:00pm - Folk Pirate Punk as good as it comes with these pirates from the Purbecks.
Saturday 4th - The Hightown Crows - 9:00pm - Dorset's finest rockabilly blues outfit with Emery Down, Hinton Admiral and Rufus Stone!
Sunday 5th - Jam Session - 4:30pm - Led by the house band, but anyone is more than welcome to come and join in. If you want to play at The Ropemakers, just come along.
Friday 10th - Boy Le Monti - 9:00pm - Boy Le Monti are ~ Kent*sta – Trumpet, vox, Barry Tone – Sax, clarinet, vox, King Tut – Guitar, bass, Janny Pranny – Bass, guitar, vox, Lisa Foo – Drums, vox, playing the finest vintage ska and rock steady tunes. The band will be judging our audience's dancing; the more peculiar the better. There are exciting prizes for the bands most favourite movers.
Saturday 11th - Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs - 9:00pm - Creators of the musical genre Skunk Rock (more commonly refered to as Skunk) are one of the more unusual acts playing in the UK today. Basically a skiffle band who can skiffle almost anything (including The Pussycat Dolls!)
Friday 17th - The Rinky Dinks - 9:00pm - Introducing The Rinky Dinks: Bristol’s first ukulele supergroup! Comprising musicians drawn from a number of Bristol bands past and present and representing musical genres as diverse as hip hop, metal, house and pop; The Dinks aim to wrestle back all the best tunes from the ubiquitous guitar bands!
Saturday 18th - Cryin Out Loud - 9:00pm - Gareth and the lads do everything from Hendrix to Kate Bush!!
Friday 24th - Scaramoose - 9:00pm - Scaramoose have a particular passion for artists such as Ben Harper, G. Love, The John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd and Peter Green. With a mixture of covers and original material the band currently perform in popular venues across the country.
Saturday 25th - Treefrogs - 9:00pm - The Frogs are not just another covers band, they play original material that grooves
