 This year is the fifteenth year celebrating the Bridport / Bilbao Spanish student exchange. Each year about 50 Spanish students come to Bridport for English lessons and experience Bridport culture and life. The students are between the ages of 11 and 17. each student stays with a host family in the Bridport area and become a member of the family for the month of July. Host families receive generous board and lodging payment.
The students attend English lessons in Bridport during the day and are encouraged to practice what they have learnt with their host families. They also go on organised excursions while they are here to enjoy the historic Jurassic coast. All students are carefully matched to their host families and if they can be with English children of a similar age, this is even better.
In return, the children of host families can visit Spain this Summer for free, to stay with the families of their Spanish student. Only travel expenses need to be found.
This Bridport/Bilbao student exchange programme can be really fulfilling and enriching experience for young people from Bridport and Bilbao.
