TRURO 3 BRIDPORT 0 E-mail
A car full of Bees fans headed west to Truro, to take in the Les Phillips Cup tie between high flying Truro City and Bridport FC. First things first, if you've never been to Truro - it's certainly worth a visit. A busy, bustling city centre, dominated by the magnificent cathedral -many bars and restaurants - what's not to like?

The weather was superb, our B&B was just across the road from the ground - all it needed to make it the perfect trip was for the Bees to pull off a giant-killing act.

Truro City are the big players in South Western non-league football - backed by a millionaire proprty developer and sporting their new £10,000 signing upfront. They regularly get crowds of over 1,000 and next season the whole club is going full-time. Compare this to Bridport FC whose players play for nothing and are pleased to get first suck of the club orange at half-time.

But for the first half, it looked as if the battling Bees could do it. Truro threw the kitchen sink at the plucky visitors, but with goalkeeper Lee Cuff performing heroics in the Bees goal, Bridport went in at the break at 0-0.

Bridport continued to keep City out, and it took a highly dubious penalty decision by the referee to gift the home side their first goal.

Truro went on to add a couple more goals, as their class finally showed. Bridport can be proud of their performance - they gave Truro a real fright.

Final score: Truro City 3 Bridport 0

C'mon you Bees!
