PHOTO COMPETITION E-mail

ImageAs the blustering flush of Spring bursts across Bridport with its lusty longings, delirious daydreams and spent piles of cherry blossom quivering their last in the gutters – one can’t but help think: To capture a snapshot of nature at it’s best, That, my friends, is a challenge worth pursuing. The twin yinging and yanging themes being: “The Beauty of Nature” &/or “Hideous Desecrations”

JS PHOTOIMAGES E-mail

ImageJohn Stevens has always taken photographs from the time he studied at the Central School of Arts London (now central St Martins). At that time he worked entirely in black and white. After careers in design, horticulture and as an art dealer and gallery owner he now works as a photographer and painter. Specializing in macro photography of flowers he also takes pictures of landscapes, the sea, female figures and faces, more recently experimenting with abstract form and colour. These pictures can be described as “art photos” as they have been enhanced on a computer which results in a painterly quality. After many years in Suffolk John now lives in Bridport, Dorset.
