Calling all Artists/tattooists/and creatives. We are lucky enough to have the world famous Filete painter Alfredo Genovese coming to teach an 8 hour introductory painting course in 'Filete Porteno' the flamboyantly emotive Sign Art of Argentina, in our wee town of Bridders.  Alfredo's work is absolutely stunning.  He has worked for the likes of Coca Cola, Nike, Converse, Evian, Kimberley Clark to name but a few and has been teaching for the past 20 years where he lives and works in Buenos Aires.

Learn how to cut a strip, crease, bevel, dye an edge, burnish and stitch using a clam and come away with a belt you have made yourself. £60 including a light lunch

The Bridport Prize 2010 - International Creative Writing Competition for Short Stories and Poems

The Bridport Prize is the richest open writing competition in the English language -with £5,000 first prize for a short story (of up to 5000 words); and £5,000 first prize for a poem (of up to 42 lines). This year we are delighted to launch a new category of Flash Fiction - there's £1,000 to be won for the best short story, of under 250 words.

B-Side is a biennial multimedia, site-specific arts festival, animating public spaces in Weymouth and Portland. Inspired by the ‘flip’ side of vinyl recordings, B-Side offers opportunities for artists and audiences to explore the less commercial aspects of South West coastal resorts. B-Side is offering a number of commissions to create new site based work to be showcased at this years festival 17- 26 September 2010.
