 A summers night full of the best DJs and music at the Electric Palace on the 8th August. A fundraising concert for Cambodian children who live in the slums of Stung Meanchey. The proceeds will go to several small charities that work with these children by giving them medical assisstance getting them into education and buying them food, shoes and clothing as well as trying to raise awareness of their situation.  The Destroyers playing this Saturday 1st August 2009 at Evershot Village Hall. The Destroyers are an outstanding 15 piece musical whirlwind of instrumentalists, vocalists and composers, specialising in turbo-folk mélanges of Gypsy, Balkan, Klesmer and beat poetry mixed in with some punk & ska. Woodworker Karen Hansen will show you how to cut and carve wood to make the outdoor throwing game of Kings, whittle figures for the tactical game of Hnefatafl or develop your own game of cunning to take home. You will be shown how to use knives and gauges, saws and mallets (Karen is very hot on health & safety!). Wear loose clothing and remember a packed lunch.
