MIRACLE SHOW E-mail

ImageSummer is an opportunity to enjoy theatre outdoors and Miracle Theatre’s production of The Taming of the Shrew will be performed at the Millennium Green at Mountfield, Bridport on Wednesday 4 July.

This show is a controversial and tender story of sexual politics with the battle between Petruccio and Katherine, two of Shakespeare’s most unforgettable characters.  It’s moving, full of music and funny. And thereby hangs a tale…

Bridport Arts Centre marketing manager, Tamsin Loudon said, ”Miracle tours the South West of England each year playing outdoors in the summer. Headed by Bill Scott, the Artistic Director, the company includes regulars who have a long association with the company and newcomers at the start of their careers.

“Since it began over twenty-five years ago, the company has developed a reputation for touring productions of classic works and new writing that’s funny and dramatic. It has become one of the most popular professional theatre companies in the South West.”

Describing how a show comes about Bill Scott said, “Miracle’s process of putting a play together is very free and collaborative and encourages the whole company, writer, performers, designer, composer and makers, to really push the boat out.”

Tickets are available from the box office 01308 424204 and the audience are encouraged to bring rugs, chairs and picnics.

“Lively, inventive and very popular”

FOOD FESTIVAL E-mail

ImageFollowing last year's successful move to Asker Meadows on the southern side of Bridport, the Food and Drink Festival is on again this weekend. Showcasing the best of what our area produces. Bridport is a very special place for food and drink, and we want to show off to the world! Festivities start on Friday night with a cookery evening with Lesley Waters, a stalwart supporter of local food. The Round Table Beer and Cider event will kick off that evening too, with live music and a variety of local food producers doing food.
