Independent Ballet Wales are visiting Bridport Arts Centre to perform two ballets, The Canterbury Tales and Giselle.

The first show on Thursday November 9, The Canterbury Tales, is a vibrant new production of Chaucer¹s classic.  A group of men and women are on a pilgrimage from London to Canterbury and to help pass the time they tell stories.

Arts Centre programme manager Gjenya Cambray said, "The motley crowd including the wife of Bath, the gentlemanly knight and the nun are brought to life by the colourful dance."

ImageThe second performance on Friday November 10, is Giselle, one of the world¹s most popular ballets.  Miss Cambray explained, "This full length production uses Adolphe Adam¹s timeless music, delicate sets and stunning costumes."

A pre-show supper is available from 6pm before the performance of The Canterbury Tales at a cost of £14.  Also, there is an opportunity on the Friday afternoon, before Giselle, to take part in a dance workshop from 5 6pm, where participants will be taught a dance from the ballet.

Tickets for the performances, pre-show supper and workshop are available form the box office on 01308 424204.
