Winners of the 2006 Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo, Spiers and Boden are the unstopable pair that have graduated from being the dangerous new kids on the block to being a solid headlining mainstay on the folk scene.

Spiers is an exponent of the Melodeon, Concertina and Bandoneon and Boden is a great singer and also a talented and original fiddle player and guitarist.

Bridport Arts Centre director, Chris Huxley said, "It's great to have them back in Bridport.  Since appearing here last autumn with their band Bellowhead, they have recorded and released two albums of new material and they are also permanent members of Eliza Carthy¹s band.  We¹re expecting a big turnout for this gig."

ImageTheatre Alibi bring their latest children's show How to Hug Trees & other secrets to Bridport Arts Centre on Saturday 25 November at 2pm. Arts Centre, marketing manager Tamsin Loudon said, "This show is funny and magical.  It's got great characters like Jonas Mudge and the dastardly Barnstaple Chuckleberry, who tries to turn the family farm into a nasty factory farm like Mrs Tweedie in Chicken Run." Daniel Jamieson, who also wrote Bonjour Bob and The Night Before Christmas for the company, wrote this current production.

MISSING CAT E-mail

ImageTiger disappeared overnight on 7th/8th November from Buttercup Way in the Meadowlands area of Bridport.  He's a large, striped tabby with white bib, white paws and a distinctive striped tail. He doesn't wear a collar but is microchipped.  He's only just moved to the area and won't know where he is, so anyone who thinks they may have seen him please contact Bridport Radio here and we will pass on the message.
Tiger was found alive and well - Ed
