CULL THE GULL?

AS. I think you'll find it was in Macbeth.. there's that famous scene where Lady Macbeth starts wringing her hands and screaming: ""Out out.. damn Herring Gull""

Hey Bentley. Anti gull attitude ? where do you get that from ? I'm a member of RSPB don't yer know. But true I do beleive in a Cull because Gulls esp Herring Gulls (that lets face it are the size of a Goose & twice as aggressive) need to be controlled in towns where they become,.....wait for it.... vermin. I don't think Shakespeare necessarily IS (and certainly doesn't have to be) elitist. Kids on rough housing estates and in prisons can get really enthused and inspired by his work. & on that philisophical note.........

I despise? I dont like? I cant get on with? Get over yourself mate (B or C or whatever you call yourself 119) I thought i saw an albatross flutter round the lamp I looked again, and saw it was A penny postage stamp....

People on this thread have said ""stop feeding the vermin and they will die out or go away"". Do they mean sea-gulls or tuzo?

Posted by tuzo, on 14-10-2007 11:07,
That tired old word (vermin) Which ultimately means someone is taking something that you want. Humans have encroached on every area of the planet, driving back and wiping out species as they go, with no regard for anything but themselves... Who pray, are the VERMIN? It says more about the person saying the word than any creature I know of.

ffs stop this insane ranting about vermin plz, or i'll be forced to take rat poison........dies

Don't get me started Tuzo! ver·min (vūrmn) n. pl. vermin 1. Various small animals or insects, such as rats or cockroaches, that are destructive, annoying, or injurious to health. 2. Animals that prey on game, such as foxes or weasels. 3. a. A person considered loathsome or highly offensive. b. Such people considered as a group. So - Seagulls are Vermin. But Vermin only exist because humans are around to define them as ""vermin"" in the first place. Tuzo, you aren't ""Vermin"" - your not significant enough to be loathsome or highly offensive. You're merely an irritation. Perhaps if you rifled through people's rubbish and dumped on a few cars you'd be getting close!

well little c, we will agree to differ on the meaning of the word. do keep up your steady flow of insults, i have nearly enough to paper the bathroom, tis fantasy though as we both know, as you do not know me sweetie!

I heard that it works if you remove the eggs and replace them after hard-boiling them. The unwitting gulls should hopefully continue to tend their eggs without being alerted by shiny china eggs. As we all know they're pretty damn smart. Mind you, I'd advise wearing a helmet while doing this (Health & Safety). A more entertaining method, even exciting, is to assemble the following: (i)one over-ripe herring/kipper attached to top of (ii)one garden fork stuck firmly in the ground, by means of (iii)a short length of bare garden wire which is also attached to (iv)a suitable length of well-insulated electric cable with mains plug at one end. (v)one comfortable deck-chair with good book, pint of beer and wellies (again, Health & Safety).....and patience. Just flick the switch when your guests arrive for lunch.

I did think it strange that these folk buy flats bang in the centre of town - then complain about things that happen in the centre of town (pubs/music etc). This place sounds just right - although don't knwow what the owners of the B&B think about two of their chefs jumping ship and setting up down the road.

Oh no tuzo, I wouldn't give you the satisfaction. Just remember, that every time there's been a power cut, I got another greedy gull or two! ;)

Posted by tuzo, on 30-10-2007 13:56,
i doubt it, power cuts in the winter, gulls gone by then, but i like to think of you sitting there waiting for nothing, its quite amusing!

Shoot them. Simple. leave it half dead on the street and watch their half cousins, rattie familiarus, come and gobble em up. better to have four legged rats than borgels with wings.

Posted by tuzo, on 31-10-2007 12:26,
borgel? what are they? Something you leave for half dead? Too much playstation it sounds like.

Posted by hollywood, on 31-10-2007 14:01,
A borgel is something dirty, mingin and about as much use as tits on a bull. A seagull is a perfect example, yeh boy ya. As for de playstations, I'm more into the real McCoy. Somewhere near the bottom with the flecks of gaosan you get when ya open the beg. Rite hey...by the way, there's quare fit birds workin in the nursin home. Arse pinchin ones..

Now, look at the population of gulls and compare it to the population of humans. Any difference? Humans are more like pests because we dump our rubbis and pollute the atmosphere! Oh, its such a pain that they pood on me, although I dumped my rubbish! Ooh, my life is ruined. I can't fish because there are gulls around me! They take my fish, I'll kill 'em! They are pests in our rubbish dumps. WE ARE THE ONLY ONES TO BLAME HERE! IT IS OUR FAULT THEY ARE THRIVING! WHY CAN'T THE GOVERNMENT GET THIS B****Y MESSAGE?

After reading posts 134 & 135 I am wondering if patients in the long stay unit at Forston Clinic have obtained access to the net, one seems to be waffling on in a made up language and legible probably only to himself and the other is foaming at the mouth about the goverment, whom, as far as I can tell by reading the back posts on this subject, have not been involved in the sea gull debate at all. I think that sea-gulls are superb, not so much when they are screeching and clomping about on my roof at 5 in the morning, but in their natural environment, over the sea and cliffs, riding a storm they inspire a sense of a being in perfect harmony with their surroundings. Unlike the human animal.

my darling pair are back for the third year running, still no laundry soiling, and still the very respecful and intelligent attitude that i have come to understand and appreciate, this year perhaps look at them again with a fresh eye?

In response to Husskeys comment of the 24/3, the 'drug addict' who in fact does have a name, Martin Pugh, was homeless with little opportunity in life due to his problems, still tried to make the most of his situation by selling the big issue in this town. Im sure we can all think of a lot of people in this town who sit on their arses doing nothing and expecting the state to support them. I expect Husskey does not know what its like to have to struggle and live on a park bench, judging by his/her comments!
I knew Martin personally and if anyone was deserving of a bench in his honour it was him.

Batty Boy, does that include culling cancer patients that have to use Morphine to knock out the pain?
