Connect being the company responsible for the roads, decided the confligeration. the ORIGINAL was for a round-a-bout. Being a BIG company appeared to change the rules. Question: what is the cost to us of a single death at Miles Cross? I have an approximate guesstimate of + £1,000,000. I content that it has taken +10 deaths to achieve no change (white lines are not revelent. A round-a-bout would have been so much cheaper!!!!!!! And more lives would have been allowed to die naturally.

I reckon I should just sit there in my truck and wait for the next screech!!!

Yes this is a V bad junction but what about the others? One of the worst for minor agro is the 4 way junction outside Pams at the meeting of St Michaels Lane and Gundry Lane. Considering that 2 legs of this junction are dead ends and the third is one way, it is disproportionatly trecherous.

The junction itself is not killing people, and its not causing accident's. Its the drivers making mistakes that are causing the incidents there. The worst offenders are the drivers who just can not see vehicle's coming towards them and just pull out anyway, ive lost count of the times i have seen this. And yes, the majority of these are elderly (im going to get stick for this ! )and usually drive in pairs as only one has got perfect eye sight !! But there is also the drivers who just do not care if they inconvenience others by pulling out in front of them when they are only 30 feet or so from being hit. Maybe the camera's that are on the picnic area/Eype bridge should be moved to the Miles Cross junction to capture all the bad driving and incidents that occur there, then the truth will be captured on film !!

If you would like Bridport Radio's self proclaimed food critic and Bon Viveur to write a review of your hostelry, contact me here, I have years of experience in food eating. Beware, we don't always write good reviews, we are firm but fair.

I've been away and missed this - great, it shows our finest can move if they want to! Who censored them doing the stripping bit ? that was a bit mean. No doubt the practising is what has kept them off the streets ..didn't notice Insp Davenport though... Keep dancing boys and girls.

Hey goccibos you miss the point.it's big stores people go to, the internet keeps them indoors...sure the small shops try, but I know one that was open last Wednesday night and only took twenty quid.. who would do three hours work for a tenner...

After many minutes of research I have found out that you ""don't have to be disabled"" to own a mobility scooter. Now how good is that, we could all have them. Obviously as with cars some would have to be better than others, some would have lowered suspension, wide wheel arches, specialist paint jobs, Me & Me sun visor sticker, and imaging the arse kicking sound system you could run with those gert big batteries. We could all meet up at scummers car park and go on a convoy run down to west bay and hang around the kiosks drinking tea and checking out each others new ""hogs"". With the gearing differential you can get out of a cordless drill you should be able to pop a wheelie on one and even have little drag races along the new piers. At least there should be no complaints about the noise. All together now steppenwolf fans ""oooh head out on the highway get those batteries running looking for adventure and a socket I can plug in.

What a brilliant idea !! Instead of racing over to Weymouth as fast as possible, a group of us could wiz up to Morrisons and race round the aisles. Can you imagine the screaching sound of scooter tyres on painted floors !! After which the scooter's could be safely locked in the trolley lockers behind the checkouts, whilst we get tanked up on de-caf in the restaurant !!

Yet again on the Tuesday just gone i was very nearly wiped out again at this junction, by someone who still does not know the law or common sense. Whilst driving from the picnic area towards the junction, a total idiot in a green small hatchback decided to sprint accross to the centre section and without stopping tried to join the main carriageway. I was only about 9 car length's away when this numpty started crossing on to my side of the road ! With luck on my side i braked hard and pulled to the left, and the passenger grabbed the wheel of the suicidal driver and steered it towards the central reservation leeving me just enough room to swerve around them. No amount of flash electronic signs are going to educate those who do not realise what stop signs meen or who can not safely judge the speed of oncoming vehicles. There's not much chance of the highways agency making this juncion safe in the near future, so i myself would like to see a monitoring camera mounted at this junction.Maybe it could be tied into the same cameras mounted on the bridge near the picnic area. That way these incidents could be recorded and these accident causing drivers could be brought to justice !!

I SIMPLY DON'T GET WHY EVERYONE THINKS THIS JUNCTION IS DANGEROUS! 1. If you're leaving Bridport and turning left, just look right. Anything coming? If YES, stay still, if NO then go. EASY. 2. If you're leaving Bridport and turning RIGHT, follow step 1 and then stop on the central STOP area...then look LEFT. Anything coming? If Yes, then stay still, if NO then go. NOTE: If when following step 1, you notice a car coming from the left that is slowing and indicating as if to enter the central stop area...don't go. 3. If entering Bridport from the West, indicate and leave A35 and stop at the STOP lines. Check for traffic coming from the central area, if there is no traffic then GO. 4. If entering Bridport from the East, Indicate right, pull into the central area (right hand-side of) and STOP. Look left, anything coming? If Yes, STOP and No, GO. IT IS VERY STRAIGHT FOWARD AND IS ONLY MADE DANGEROUS BY IDIOTS WHO CAN'T DRIVE. BUT THEN, EVEN A ROUNDABOUT IS A DEATH TRAP WHEN USED BY IDIOTS. Rosie, I'm surprised that you are willing to brave those mental traffic calming measured on Alexandra road, and the risk of being car-jacked by a rabid smack head, to avoid a very simply junction!

I sometimes forget I'm in the UK and drive from Bridders to Lyme Regis on the right hand side of th road......(esp when I'm just back from France) I've never caused a single pile up though... not yet.

carlito: you may know what your doing, but others don't always neccessarily do.Be warned.

Posted by Rosieo6, on 29-07-2007 10:17,
Aah but I have a special agreement with the rabid smackheads..they keep out of my way and I don't run them over(getting away with it as I swerved to avoid a confused child near the traffic calming)added to the fact that NOONE would want to be seen in daylight in MY car!

what the hell is a rabid smackhead? carlito and rosieo6
