Results 21 - 40 of 49

Interesting,,, how do people feel about Bridport’s love for “Blacking up” The Carnival is coming and I bet you 10p someone will do it. Is this racist? Will the Notting Hill Carnival see the Afro-Caribbean’s “Whiting up” I’m guessing not…..

Vermin (mr sad) a pejorative term, comes from the Latin Vermis (worm) a creature living out of balance in desired environment, consuming excessive resources...sounds familiar?

Posted by tuzo, on 02-06-2007 23:16,
one more question for mr sad.. i would like to invite him to furnish us all with his list of people who ""matter"" in this town (25th may post)? (what an peculiar remark!)

To be honest colour of skin is low on list of how I view people.Attitude is something that usually strikes me first or whatever makes me notice them infirst place.e.g.Purple hair, rudeness, shouting, trippin g up a step, nice eyes/smile.(Paranoia that anyone of you could be the next person I talk to!!)

so you've been away for a week and all you've come up with is a witless name for me, well done. Your thread has unearthed nothing of the racism you were seeking, just a lot of sound people who know it's ridiculous to judge someone by the colour of their skin. Those that share in such idiocy are to me not worth knowing. Simple; Bigots to me are not those 'that matter'--their views, their politics, their being! As for the 'upstanding folk' you mix with i cannot say. Vermin in my dixionary also mentions 'VILE PERSONS' ...i suppose that relates to rude, obnoxious, argumentative, offensive, superior and petty persons, not just racists. ...when the person next to you in said vehicle commented 'You see a lot of THEM these days' -did you confront him -or go quiet i wonder? ...he could've been talking bout the TRAFFIC LIGHTS!! END OF THREAD said some, i concur. ED??

Hero; keeping the Chav numbers in check Please can you move away from your home territory into Bridport South as Chav numbers are on the increase here, suggest St Marys church tower a good base as you can get a shot towards skilling and cover Sh1ty Poo Square too!

Good. By the way, i can't help but notice you've never adressed me as 'shagsack'-- MR SHACK, MR SAD, SADSHACK, now SS... tell me, is it the 'shag' you can't bring yourself to write? will you be punished for it?? --hey, wait a minute have you got a little fish on your car

Posted by shagsack, on 07-06-2007 18:26,
...you also assume i'm a 'MR'... does this mean you are being 'sexist'? HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED 'RURAL SEXISM' IN BRIDPORT??

i have seagull excrement on my car (gotta have a with my pair and see if they can influence the culprits) (ss) As for your earlier question about the man in the car and the ""remark"" no it was not a traffic light,it was a black man crossing at the lights, and I did make a comment in reply.. which was ""yes, he is a friend of mine"" (not strictly truthful, however i did know him on a nodding basis) Yes i probably should have said more, you are right, but I was a bit taken aback, we were in a working situation, and it came out of the blue. What do you think i should have said? My point in the first instance was that these insidious comments seem to come from unlikely sources, usually when i have had a few friendly chats on other matters. Easy to take a stand on some eejit in a pub spouting bigotry.. no problem there. As for the business of your name, i dont really know why i dont write it the way you do, will i be punished for writing it correctly ? i dont know, is there punishment for that sort of thing?

I wouldn't worry Shagsack, I suspect that it's a simple case of prodding you by not ever writing your name correctly until you raise the issue...which you have. Classic ""Miner"". Def: Mining; Digging away at something until you either hit a dead end or until you get what you were looking for. Tuzo; A breed of bantam. An ugly one at that. Take your filth-covered scaly legs and skanky feathers back to your hutch and peck on someone your own size. Moving On...i note from the BBC news website that some bint has been booted out of the BB house for saying the ""n"" word. Just like Denzlepob_at_work, I expect Endemol are just covering their arses.

So you lied and said that the man was a friend of yours. Did you think it would sound cool? Like ""yeah some of my best friends are gay"". Tuzo, you thought that telling the man in the car with you that you were friends with this pedestrian would be more controversial and therefore deliberatelty make him feel uncomfortable about his comment. Very clever...although Tuzo, pretending to be friends with black people in order to create controversy is pure racism is it not?

Posted by tuzo, on 08-06-2007 12:15,
if i was clever (carlito) it was purely accidental. you are making this far more complicated than it need be, i had a second to say something and on reflection my response to his remark was more defensive than cool... i was trying to head off a further remark, thats why i asked (ss)what he thought i should have said? and i ask you the same? did not know Tuzo was a bantam, interesting, however i was thinking of the commander of land forces in the north of ireland Sir harry Tuzo (70s) when I joined this site, for reasons best known to myself.

did the seagull excrement land on your little plastic fish badge? can't believe you treat them like they're your pets...and you say you've lived in dorset how long??

Posted by tuzo, on 09-06-2007 11:05,
you seem awfully interested in the excrement, (sir or madam ss)not one of your hobbies i hope? the police were looking for someone (a few months ago) who was leaving little packages of same on road in king street. No i dont have a badge on my car, cept tax and parking ones, dont really go in for badges, can usually manage to explain my point of view face to face or like this... badges!???????!! dont be silly!!!! lived in dorset? look at top of thread.

Posted by tuzo, on 09-06-2007 11:13,
I dont treat them like my pets... they are wild animals, and I enjoy their visits, there is sense to this (whatever you people say) instead of having flocks of them i have just the two....cant you see the practical side?( lord or lady ss)

Apart from ooaargh all the comments on rascism have been on how white people treat black/coloured/asian etc people but rascism is a two way thing as other races have different ideas(usually from religion or culture)on how things should be done.Everyone assumes how they live is the norm and are surprised when people get upset.Maybe the country you live in should determine the rules you abide by.When countries were conquered by others there was no choice in change but if you choose to live somewhere the rules apply.Killing or abusing people is wrong wherever whoever. Why is someone a bad person if they have a fish symbol in their car?Isn't everyone supposed to be treated as an individual? If you support a football team that some of the supporters have caused trouble for it doesn't mean all are bad.It comes down to personality in the end.No I am not a group hugger(I have a dread of personal contact with strangers!)I have an opinion.

I will give you another story, if you have the patience Same situation (in car,at work, man next to me) Nice enough bloke although he told the most teeth waterinly boring jokes (you know the type?) I said ""where did you used to live?"" he said ""Essex"" I didnt remember the town.. then as he was about to get out of the car to make the delivery, he added ""we had to move.. far too many of THEM...."" the penny dropped..a bit of a puzzle as he had told me his wife was of mixed race. I said nothing. Next week, same man, same car, same me...New comment this time it was about the Bosnian refugees, and how disgraceful he thought they all were...I still said nothing. I asked to be moved from working with him, and explained my reasons, (which my boss totally understood) I still see this man, and he has no idea why I was moved.

While I admire your honesty you are a bit of a moral coward Tuzo Rather than tell this person to his face that you were concerned that he was a racist, you went behind his back, snitched him into your boss and yet the ""nice enough bloke"" goes about his day with no idea that he is considered a racist bigot. No doubt you nod and say hello every time you see him, with a nice cheery ""alright mate"" thrown in for good measure just to ensure he remains in ignorance of your true feelings. Unless people using such spineless behavior as yours actually say something then bigotry and racism will remain as a terrible blight on our society. This is not just about you Tuzo, although you have admitted your rather gutless actions, as there are many people just like you who would rather hide in the shadows and ""tut tut"" in anonymously rather than say ""you appear to have mistaken me for a racist and I think you need to know that I don’t care what colour peoples skin is or where they come from just as long as they come in peace"" I find your behaviour as reprehensible as that of the racist and if anything more damaging, at least with a bigot you know what you are dealing with.
