The Martin Harley Band are playing in Bridport on the 17th of May at the Bridport Arts Centre. Their single "One for the road" is out on the 16th of June and their album "Grow Your Own" was released on the 14th of April. Rachael Roberts and Alex Swift met whilst working at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Realising they had similar musical tastes they decided to collaborate and the album Quietude is the result. It’s a lush blend of electronica combined with the organic tones of strings and clarinet and a sweet vocal narrative.
Recently Lord Skilling and my good self (Ed) were invited to take part in a green woodworking course run by Guy Mallinson and taught by Karen Hansen out in the wilds of Mangerton. Green woodworking means both green as in 'unseasoned wood' and green as in environmentally preferable to the alternatives.
We arrived bright and early and walked down the field to a picturesque lake and over a bridge onto a small island to find our host had lit the fire and got the coffee on.
Straight Outta Chelbrough! Gavin of Digital Funfair fame has come up with a couple more musical mash-ups for your aural enjoyment, These have had me rocking around the dancefloor of my living room when my back isn't giving me gip.
Bridport writer Dave Mort author of the classic slice of provincial mayhem MONEY FOR OLD ROPE has written a new book 'Play it Again Uncle Sam' The story is woven around political events in America from the Korean War and the witch-hunts of the early fifties to the Watergate scandal of the seventies, and therefore charts the rise of the civil rights and anti-war movements in America.

Local boy Chris Good plays Bass and vocals in the band 'Device' who are fast becoming one of the true ’must see’ bands on the hotly-contested London scene.
