Following last years sell out out show in aid of the Bridport Museum, Bonny Sartin will be returning to Bridport, this time to focus on a different aspect of this areas colourful past. This years show by The Yetties front man will explore the illicit deeds of the smugglers of Dorset and Hampshire and takes place in Bridports historic Town Hall on Wednesday 24th March at 7 p.m.
Hot on the heels of Stela – the Polish group who performed at Portesham and Morden village halls, including a wonderful singing workshop at Portesham, the next part of the Baltic Roots South West Rural Tour brings RO:TORO over from Estonia.
Ro:toro play traditional Estonian melodies, with a piper, an improvising saxophonist, an electric guitarist and a quirky percussionist who uses plastic bowls on a bed of water, bicycle wheels and scraps of tin foil to create his rhythms!
Probably known for their fantastic 1997 smash hit Tubthumping, Chumbawamba are a positive riot of a band. Just ask John Prescott who became the unwitting target of their own brand of direct political action at the following year¹s Brit Awards namely throwing a glass of water over the former Deputy PM. But real fans have no fear of a soaking as the group joined by O¹Hooley & Tidow launch their new album ABCDEFG.

BRIDPORT is to host the UK's first ever Hat Festival, it can be revealed this week. The three-day event due to be held in September aims to be the world¹s biggest celebration of headwear and millinery. The plans have already excited some of the industry's biggest players with many agreeing to support the fledgling long weekend.

Local boy Toby Burnham (now living in Lun-dun) has stupidly agreed to join ex-England Rugby Captain Lawrence Dallaglio’s “Cycle Slam” project, raising money for both Sport Relief, and the Lawrence Dallaglio Foundation, which gives money to Help for Heroes, and Cancer Research amongst others.
