It’s quiet these days in Rose’s Alehouse, tucked away under Bulbarrow Hill; but when the fiddler begins to play, the faces and places of his youth come back to life, and an extraordinary story is revealed…
Based on a chance discovery of an 1820’s manuscript book of fiddle tunes from the Blackmore Vale, acclaimed local folk musicians Tim Laycock and Colin Thompson put together this musical show which has attracted much interest on previous tours of the Artsreach circuit. There are now six more chances to see this fascinating performance across rural Dorset this Spring.

Local artist Richard Butterworth absolutely loves living in Bridport and wished to make his contribution to the community. So he decided to create a poster of Bridport & West Bay, and another about the Jurassic Coast.
They make wonderful, stylish, eye-catching, informative souvenirs for the tourists, who we hope will be visiting the Bridport Festival and the Olympic Games next year, to take home!
About the Artist
'Richard was born in 1932 in Dublin and spent his formative years in Dunmore East, Waterford.
He studied Graphic Art at Winchester School of Art, and from 1950 to 1960 worked as Art Director for Rediffusion, Southern Television in England and Telefis Eireann in Dublin.

Toppy Tours the Dinosaurs, is a charming book for 0-5 year olds.
The books illustrations are bright, bold and simple. With one sentence per page it is sure to engage a young child's attention. Under the text is a wee bit of dinosaur translation silly enough to appeal to the humour of children and children at heart as well.
In this book Toppy views portraits of his dinosaur ancestors in a museum on the Jurassic Coast to discover why he is a good and kind and strong and noble and happy and ever so silly dinosaur.
It is the first in a new series of books written by Elizabeth Mulderig www.betsybermuda.com
